1. What do you do at Evergen and what do you love about it?
As Business Development Director, I focus on growing our CDMO business through problem-solving and relationship-building. My role connects various functions, from understanding end-user markets to bringing in the right technical experts.
What makes this especially rewarding is how we develop solutions specifically for our customers. It's all about building those meaningful connections and finding the right solutions together.
2. What inspired you to join the regenerative medicine/CDMO industry, and what keeps you motivated in this rapidly evolving field?
I started my career as a grant writer and moved into medical device in a sales operation role, negotiating hospital contracts, where I developed a deep understanding of end-user needs in the spine and orthopedic markets. I also gained valuable operational insights from my time at a contract manufacturing startup.
Moving to the CDMO side at RTI Surgical, I was challenged to broaden my knowledge across all aspects of the business, across regulatory, operations, quality and R&D.
After over 11 years at Evergen, what keeps me motivated is the constant evolution and learning opportunities in this dynamic field.
3. How is the CDMO space changing in regenerative medicine, and how is Evergen positioning itself within it?
The CDMO landscape has shifted significantly in the past few years, particularly concerning outsourcing development work.
Hereat Evergen, we start with the patient. We have evolved to help our customers meet new market demands by first understanding the clinical needs and determining the best way to meet those needs.
We offer a flexible partnership model that includes co-development, full development, or exclusive development services. Our model has proved particularly successful with mid-size companies, who do not feel existing suppliers best serve them. This flexibility, combined with our biomaterial expertise, positions us uniquely in the market. It comes down to being adaptable and growing together with our partners.
4. How does your role impact patients?
At the heart of everything we do is enhancing patients’ lives. By working with more customers and expanding our partnerships, we can reach more patients and improve their quality of life.
5. What has impressed you most about the company's culture?
What impresses me most is how we grow our culture alongside our business. It's the trust and support among colleagues that makes Evergen special. It's one of the main reasons I’ve spent so much time here, as I love being part of a team where everyone is invested in the company’s success.
