Chloe and her twin sister Faith shared everything: birthdays, adventures, and even a decision to become tissue donors. On January 1, 2023, Faith tragically passed away in a snowmobiling accident. When the family was asked about donation, Chloe didn’t hesitate. “We had made that decision together,” she said.
Faith’s donation helped to enhance the lives of more than 55 people. She was known for her kindness, creativity, and love of the outdoors. “She was the most heartwarming and giving person you could ever meet,” Chloe shared. “After we lost our older sister Maddy in 2016, Faith made sure we lived life with our glasses half full.”
In September 2024, Chloe and her boyfriend fell 20 feet from a tree stand while hunting, an activity she and Faith had always loved.
Chloe broke both her tibia and fibula and was told she would need a human-donated bone graft for surgery. That’s when an incredible possibility emerged: one graft remained from Faith’s donation—and it was the exact tissue Chloe needed for her surgery.
“I was in absolute awe,” Chloe said. “I was about to become my twin sister’s recipient.”
With the help of her mom and the Evergen team, the graft was located and delivered in time for surgery. Chloe now carries a physical part of her sister with her, a connection that brings healing and peace.
“Knowing Faith is a part of me now is humbling,” she said. “She would be so proud.”
Chloe’s story is a powerful reminder of the enduring bond between siblings and the life-changing impact of tissue donation.
